Hockey WA travelled to Narrogin last Monday and Tuesday to deliver an under-12 regional development workshop conducted by HWA participation manger and FIH level three coach Marc Pike.

The two-day workshop was well attended with 27 junior players taking part in each session consisting of two and a half hours of skill development.

Level one coaches Cara Borthwick, Emily Holt and Steven Sexton were also on hand to teach the juniors the correct technique of dribbling and passing.

Pike gave the kids great insight into the other areas of hockey including moving into space, moving off the ball, physical literature and simple playing moves to help them progress and try and reach the highest possible level.

The workshops have been held in other country areas as well with Narrogin’s being the last one at this stage due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
