The Wandering Community Centre upgrade committee has invited community input on its plans

The committee behind the proposal started as a working group in 2019, discussing upgrade options as well as surveying local facilities in anticipation of the project.

The committee comprises three Shire of Wandering representatives and three community representatives.

Upgrades to the 37-year-old building will take place in stages over several years in anticipation of the expected population growth in the Shire of Wandering.

Features of the upgrade will include extensions to the kitchen, refurbishment of the toilets and the construction of a new veranda, new sports amenities and new storage facilities.

Concept drawings and plans of the proposed community Centre upgrade and a feedback form are available on the shire’s website.

Plans and forms can also be collected from the Shire of Wandering offices and the Community Resource Centre, both on Watts Street.

The community consultation process will conclude on February 10.
