Narrogin woman Sharon Mason has offered her gratitude to emergency services and locals for their assistance in car crash

A Narrogin woman has thanked the medical staff and members of the public who came to her aid after a two-car collision in town last week. Sharon Mason was taken to Narrogin Health Service with minor injuries after the accident at the intersection of Federal and Forrest streets about 4pm on Tuesday. Narrogin police, the Narrogin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, and St John Ambulance officers attended the scene. St John confirmed one patient was taken to hospital for treatment. Ms Mason was heading into town on Federal Street when she was involved in a collision with a ute, which entered from Forrest Street. She said she suffered injuries to her lower leg, hip and wrists. A Narrogin police spokesman said the crash was under investigation. “One car continued on through the stop sign on Forrest Street and then came straight into an oncoming car on Federal Street, which has caused a T-bone-type collision resulting in minor injuries,” the spokesman said. Ms Mason took to Facebook to share her gratitude for those who helped her. “I was involved in a major car accident yesterday and just want to say a huge thank you to all our emergency services personnel and volunteers,” she said. “I received expert care and treatment and am very grateful to those who assisted me. “Our volunteer ambos and senior paramedic do a fabulous job serving our town. “Also a big thanks to Jo Corker who was the woman piecing me back together as I was pretty traumatised — your care and support was extremely comforting, “Our town is full of wonderful and giving people and that makes for a pretty special community. “I’m glad to still be in it.” Ms Mason said the intersection was a problematic area. “I think because it is such a long stretch of road, people can become complacent when checking for oncoming traffic,” she said. “I think rumble strips would be a good idea to alert people and just create extra stimulus that you are approaching a big intersection.”
