Relocation in store for Jessie House after Shire of Narrogin backs plan

Campbell WilliamsonNarrogin Observer

Shire of Narrogin council has backed the relocation of Jessie House from Clayton Road to Hale Street.

The council received four objections in a recent public comment period, but at their April 28 meeting, councillors voted in favour of the move.

The move is expected to allow for the expansion of the Narrogin Regional Homecare’s respite and day-care services for residents struggling with social isolation and memory loss.

The council resolved to approve funding from the Home and Community Care reserve of $400,000 to meet project expenses.

It also authorised the chief executive to apply for $405,621 through the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
