A 12-year-old boy was airlifted to Perth Children’s Hospital with serious head injuries after a car, being driven by a child, smashed into a tree near Narrogin on Wednesday. Police are investigating the crash which they say occurred on a farm off Yilliminning Road, near Balaling-Harrismith Road, in Narrogin Valley. The Toyota sedan was carrying three boys — aged 12, 13 and 15 — when it struck a tree about 4.30pm. Police said the 15-year-old was driving the car at the time of the crash. The 12-year-old boy was airlifted to Perth with serious injuries, including to his head. It is understood he remains in a stable condition in Perth Children’s Hospital. The 13-year-old and 15-year-old were taken to Narrogin Hospital by St John Ambulance. A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said one of the boys taken to Narrogin Hospital had serious injuries but was in a stable condition. The other boy escaped serious injury.
