A dramatic collision between two trucks has been caught on police dashcam in WA’s Wheatbelt.

Police shared footage of a truck smashing into the back of another one just after 3pm last Thursday on Albany Highway south of Williams.

The police car arrived moments before the crash, responding to reports of smoke over the road.

A private firefighting unit can be seen on the side of the highway, with smoke from a nearby fire reducing visibility.

As one truck slows to a stop, another slams into the back of it, sending a trailer shooting into the air.

Luckily, the momentum carries the trucks straight down the highway, between the police car and a private vehicle. The crash closed Albany Highway in both directions for 11/2 hours and left one driver with a broken arm.

“Police, farmers and Shire workers narrowly avoided disaster today as two trucks collided on the Albany Highway near Williams,” police said.

“Smoke across the road caused poor visibility contributing to the collision. Please drive to the conditions and prepare to stop.

“Luckily on this occasion, there were no serious injuries.”
