Pingelly’s memorial park up for a major revamp

Pingelly’s Memorial Park is set for a major facelift, after the Shire of Pingelly council approved plans to redevelop the area at last month’s council meeting. Among the key elements of the revamp are a nature play space, an amphitheatre, a museum precinct, and additional trees to be planted throughout the park. The nature play space is set to be complete with a double flying fox and a sheltered table setting. There will also be an early childhood play space, built for children aged 0-5 in a fully fenced area, while the existing play space targeted towards kids aged 5-12 will be improved with the addition of play equipment and another sheltered table setting. A barbecue area and new three cubicle accessible toilet block also feature in the plans. The amphitheatre is set to be an open space with a naturally occurring downwards slope towards the east, creating green open space. An additional multi-purpose open space will be for events and markets, and will include power for market style events, with a large community shelter and performance space. The Shire would also like to develop a museum precinct in the future.
