Man four times over limit has licence cancelled

Michael TraillNarrogin Observer

A 42-year-old Cottesloe man was allegedly caught by police in Narrogin driving while being more than four times over the legal limit of alcohol.

His blood alcohol level was 0.237.

The man’s licence was immediately disqualified on Saturday after police were notified about the alleged dangerous driving.

From last Friday to Monday this week, six lives were lost on WA roads in five different crashes. Five of those six fatalities were on country roads.

On Saturday afternoon, there was a serious crash on a country road in Kendenup. A 26-year-old Kendenup woman was taken to Albany Health Campus with serious injuries before being transferred to Royal Perth Hospital.

The driving-under-the-influence incident in Narrogin came only a week after the Shire of Narrogin called for WA drivers to take responsibility for their actions on the road.

That call was part of WALGA’s Road Ribbon for Road Safety campaign which works towards achieving zero deaths and serious injuries on our roads.
