IN PICTURES: Eucalypt Day at Gnarojin Community Garden

The Gnarojin Community Garden celebrated National Eucalypt Day on Thursday, March 23 with art workshops and eucalypt identification sessions, as well as a dusk nature walk. The event, which this year celebrated its 10th anniversary, was officially opened at 11.30am. The outdoor space hosted a range of activities including textile dyeing and printmaking, and talks were held throughout the day on soil types, eucalypt propagation and tree identification. Local artists Peter Denton and Ned Crossley were on hand to chat with visitors to the community garden as they worked on paintings well into the afternoon. At 5.30pm, Peter White led a small group along Gnarojin Creek and acquainted them with the world of the eucalypt. The day was brought to a close with a sundowner at 6.30pm that invited the community to come and enjoy an evening of music and stars in Narrogin’s tranquil creek-side eucalypt habitat.
