IN PICTURES: An earthy and enchanting morning at Narrogin Farmers Markets

The Narrogin Farmers Market was on again at the Gnarogin Community Garden on Saturday. The rich aroma of wood-fired pizza greeted marketgoers as they entered the lush green of the community garden on Hale Street. Musicians Allan and Fiona Hastie and Michelle Birrell filled the morning air with soft, melodic folk songs that perfectly suited the green garden space. David Froby, of Katanning’s Frobee’s Honey, sold beeswax tablets and sweet treats such as honeycomb at his stall next to Ed Taylor, the Breadwright. Mr Taylor hand makes his bread in Pingelly from grain grown in Dumbleyung and ground in Corrigin. Fresh produce harvested from the community gardens, tomatoes, squash, carrots and zucchini, were also on sale, as were the preserves Colin Norton brought from Kojonup in his modified market ute. Arts, crafts and jewellery were on display, and tea, coffee and cake were enjoyed in the community garden hall.
