Hyden’s Wave Rock Weekender festival attracts hundreds of people to the sell-out event
Hyden’s annual Wave Rock Weekender festival was another sell-out as more than 800 people flocked to the small southern Wheatbelt town at the long weekend.
The 17th edition of the annual festival attracted WA and interstate musicians to the southern Wheatbelt from September 23 to 26.
Music lovers scrambled to secure tickets which sold out within a day of being released.
The festival was back in full force after COVID-19 affected the scale of the past two events.
A diverse range of WA artists took to the stage including indie-rock band Sunsick, The Southern River Band, garage-rock band RA RA Viper, and singer Delilah Rose.
The interstate brigade included Australian rock band Regurgitator, folk-rocker Grace Cummings and indie-rock duo Teenage Joans.
The festival also showcased artwork, feature films and documentaries.
Hundreds of people pitched tents at the Wave Rock Caravan Park site, which was transformed into the festival grounds.
Many took advantage of the chance to check out the natural attractions, such as Wave Rock, Lake Magic and the native wildflowers blooming across the region.
