Arts Narrogin launches its 2024 enRICH Scholarship program to support emerging local artists and creatives

Emerging Narrogin artists can now apply for a 12-month scholarship worth $2000 that is open to all art forms, from music and visual art to dance, and literature. The Arts Narrogin enRICH Scholarship is a biannual program to support upcoming creatives connected to the Narrogin region develop and publicly present their work. The scholarship was established in 2020 to honour artist Joy Rich, a beloved member of the Narrogin community who actively supported and encouraged other local artists. The recipient will receive $2000 including a $1500 mentorship, $500 for materials and equipment, and an exhibition at the end of the project from Arts Narrogin funded by in-kind support. Wagin local Ron Meier - who was working in Narrogin – received the scholarship in 2022 and was mentored by artist Annette Peterson for 12 months. The resulting collection of paintings formed his first solo exhibit ‘Loving our Land’ at Arts Narrogin in September 2023. The scholarship was made possible by local donations to the Arts Narrogin gift fund and is open to diverse forms of art, including visual arts, music, theatre, dance, film, media, and literature. The only requirement is that the applicant must be connected to Narrogin. Arts Narrogin offers application support by appointment to discuss potential submissions.
