For the final time in their illustrious careers, Shannon Hurn and Luke Shuey have been named for West Coast.

The duo will be farewelled alongside injured star Nic Naitanui in front of what is expected to be a packed-out Optus Stadium for the Eagles’ final game of 2023 against Adelaide on Saturday night.

Shuey and Hurn are joined in the team by second-year defender Brady Hough to tackle the Crows, with star midfielder Elliot Yeo to miss because of a hamstring injury and suspension from their upset win over the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

The Eagles have dropped midfielder Campbell Chesser after he was subbed out against the Bulldogs, while half-back Jamaine Jones and midfielder Zane Trew have also been omitted.

Jones, 24, is coming off just 13 touches in his second game back from a serious ankle injury which haltered a breakout season for the former Geelong forward.

Chesser, who was taken with pick 14 in the 2021 draft, has struggled in his second season, averaging only 12 disposals in 14 games after missing all of last year with an ankle injury.

Trew was the sub last weekend but came on to have an impact late with seven disposals and a goal in just over 30 minutes of game time.

All three have been named as emergencies alongside key position defender Rhett Bazzo, with one to be named as the tactical sub.

An emotional Shuey, 33, said he was prepared for an emotional farewell in front of the fans this weekend.

“I’m going to try and be as present as I can throughout the whole 120 minutes playing alongside these boys”, Shuey told 6PR.

“Try and have a laugh and have some fun where I can.

“I’ll still be trying to really contribute but making sure I have fun and soak up one last go with the guys I’ve forged such great memories with is probably top of the list.”

The Crows will be without veteran Rory Sloane and Shane McAdam because of injury, while Riley Thilthorpe has been dropped.

Lachlan Gollant and Patrick Parnell both come into the team.
