AFL: It was the day Freo fans have dreamt about - and the game that could have seen Dockers players become immortals.

But it ended in the most heartbreaking way possible.

Fremantle’s second chance in club history to get their hands on the elusive premiership cup started well and looked on track until a remarkable three-minute ending that flipped the game on its head.

Relive the action from our blog.

That’s a wrap!

Another AFL season comes to a close in the most dramatic of games.

The Dockers were so close to breaking their premiership drought only for the dream to be snatched away by the Lions.

However, the footy action doesn’t end there with plenty of AFLW still to come while the trade period is only weeks away.

But for now, farewell!

Harley goes bang

West Coast’s Harley Reid has not missed Freo fans who made fun of him in the lead up to the grand final.

Longmuir reveals all

Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir was very honest in his post-match press conference alongside Shai Bolton.

Cuteness overload

The Lions’ celebrations are in full swing as the famlies get around the team.

Allen’s joy

Former West Coast captain Oscar Allen has declared his move to Queensland “worth it” after winning his first flag with Brisbane.

Going on?

Is this Chris Fagan’s last game in charge of Brisbane?

He seems undecided and going out with a three-peat would be rare air.

Heading home in tears

Along the Cappuccino strip many Freo fans have dropped into the pubs to have a condolence drink before heading home.

Among them is Danielle Desbury, who says she is totally gutted.

“Oh, absolutely gutted tonight, really didn’t think it was going to head that way” she said.

“I’ll be having a bit of a cry when I get home I think.”

Fans’ reactions the moment it all went wrong

From jubilation to devastation in seconds.
