The Ashes: Live coverage of Day 3 of the second Test between Australia and England at the Gabba live

Australia moved into a strong position after some poor Egnland bowling and worst fielding on day two but left the door open with their own brain fades on day two.
They lead by 44 runs, with Alex Carey and Michael Neser having the chance to bat England out of the match and potentially the series but England will hope they can run through the tail.

TEA AUS 8-450 lead by 116
That was an uninspiring hour from England who would have hoped to wrap up the innings quickly after removing Neser and Carey relatively early.
But Mitchell Starc with able support from Scott Boland have continued to bake England into the hot sun who looked shattered at the end of that session.
Australia will be pleased to have batted out the session and would go on for as long as they can with everyone run vital.

Over in Christchurch, the West Indies posted the second-highest fourth-innings total in history against a depleted New Zealand attack to secure a thrilling draw.
Chasing an improbable 531 they batted nearly two full days with an unbeaten 202 by Justin Greaves and 58 from Kemar Roach seeing them finish 6-457.
Remarkable stuff.

BEATEN. Stokes continues to be the best of England, beating Starc’s push.

Stokes replaces Archer. Something of a win for Australia to put him through another wicketless spell.
How did that miss!? Stokes seams one in beats the inside edge but not enough to hit the stumps.

This is a very unthreatening over with a relatively new ball.
How did that not carry. Starc goes for a swipe and it goes off the toe in the air but somewhow drops short of Archer running in at mid-off who can only laugh.
