SPORT: As the 2026 Commonwealth Games draw hit the finishing straight, there are still plenty of medals up for grabs as Australia looks to add to its mighty medal haul in Glasgow.
Peter Bol will be one of three Australian hopefuls in the 800m final while Kurtis Marschall will look to make it three straight golds in the men’s pole vault.

Hoffman wins the Aussie race
Like a shark smelling blood in the water Leigh Hoffman was hunting Tate Ryan and flew past him for the semi-final win.
Ryan elected to go off instead of tyre stand, but it likely wouldn’t of mattered with Hoffman having a wealth of experience in the field.
Hoffman will now represent Australia in the gold medal race and Ryan in the bronze.
Perth-ect Perris nabs bronze
Perth’s Kane Perris has added another bronze medal to his growing collection.
The tandem sprint final didn’t need three races, with him and Luke Zaccaria sweeping the Malaysian sprint team for the bronze.
He had already wont a bronze this games and will come home with a much heavier neck.
Silver for Gallagher
Tandem gun Jessica Gallagher will step up to the podium for a silver medal this time around.
Her and pilot Jacqueline Mengler-Mohr put up a valiant effort to come back with a top time, but New Zealand’s Emma Foy managed to go one better.
Gallagher brings it back
Defending champion Jessica Gallagher has set herself up to go for gold again in the tandem b time trial.
She was behind England’s Sophie Unwin at every time interval and looked unlikely to go back-to-back.
But a late burst helped her cross the finish line by a slim margin of 0.110.
There are two riders left to dethrone her, but the Aussie has guaranteed a medal.
Another pool win
It’s another pool win in the lawn bowls for the Aussies.
Para-pair Damien Delgado and James Reynolds bested their Scotland opponents 1.5-0.5.
The women’s para-pairs are currently underway, also taking on Scotland.
Hoffman shows his experience
In the all-Aussie semi-final race in the men’s sprint Leigh Hoffman has taken the first win over teammate Tate Ryan.
It’s a win-win situation for Australia with a guarenteed cyclist in the gold and bronze race.
Just who it will be is to be decided, but the experienced Hoffman takes the first race.
Perris takes race one
The heartrate is still high after that intense semi-final bout, but now we turn our attention over to the velodrome.
Perth para-cyclist Kane Perris has stuck first, taking one race in the men’s tandem b sprint finals.
The best of three clash for bronze as the West Aussie take the early edge, nudging out his Malaysian competitor by one tenths of a second.
Hard watch
It will be a shot that Sophie Dwyer won’t forget any time soon - for all the wrong reasons.
The pressure was insurmountable and it boiled over to one crucial moment.
Australia will have to pick themselves up and prepare for a bronze medal match against England tomorrow.
Heartbreak for Diamonds
Down by one point with no time left on the clock and Sophie Dwyer has missed the penalty shot that would have sent the game into extra time.
The Diamonds dream of defending their gold medal were crushed in the 45-46 loss to Jamaica.
Australia were left devastated after the miss and the Jamaica side erupted.
It is the first semi-final loss in the Diamonds history.
Gold medal hopes on life support
Courtney Bruce’s crucial turnover has provided a spark for the Diamonds.
