Williams is buzzing following the installation of an electric vehicle charging station at Lions Park in the town’s centre. The Shire of Williams has delivered the fast charger EV station in partnership with Synergy, connecting the little Wheatbelt town to the WA EV Network. Depending on the charge required EV drivers can power up in as little at 20 minutes, giving them time to relax in the park and enjoy a coffee. “This EV charging station in Williams is among the first to go live as part of the WA EV Network,” Synergy chief executive David Fyfe said. “The WA EV Network will be the longest in Australia stretching over 7000km from Kununurra in the north, to Esperance in the south and east to Eucla.” The Williams station can charge up two EVs at once providing a maximum of 150kW. The WA EV network will involve 98 new stations installed across 49 locations, ensuring that drivers on main travel roads throughout the State are are able to plug in, charge up and power on roughly every 200km.
