Reoffender due in court
A local recidivist drink-driver with no licence has been charged following after Narrogin police stopped her last week.
The police pulled over a woman in her 50s while on patrol after recognising her vehicle as one belonging to a reoffender.
She provided a positive breath sample, with an alleged reading of 0.05 per cent blood alcohol content.
It will also be alleged she had no authority to drive because her licence had been revoked for previous drink-driving.
The driver was charged with driving while under the influence after police seized and impounded her car.
Senior Sergeant Heidi Melia said taking away the woman’s car meant there would be one less drink-driver on Narrogin’s roads.
“It’s a good result for the community, getting (her) off the road. It’s pretty serious,” she said.
The woman is set to appear at the Narrogin Magistrate’s Court at the end of this month.
