Four Narrogin residents officially became Australians at a Shire of Narrogin citizenship ceremony on Wednesday last week.

Leslie Donguines and Catherine Dagondon, from the Philippines, as well as Rosemary Daisy and Loshni Lavashni, from South Africa, sang the national anthem before making their loyalty pledges to Australia.

Ms Lavashni said she was delighted to officially become an Australian citizen. “As I have chosen Australia to be my home, finally becoming an Australian citizen has completed the puzzle,” she said.

“This is such a proud moment for me and I feel honoured to be a part of this beautiful country.”

Shire of Narrogin president Leigh Ballard officiated the ceremony and said he was pleased to welcome the new citizens.

Narrogin Primary School children also attended and sang the national anthem as well as other Australian songs.
