Pedestrians killed on Brookton Highway

A 23-year-old woman from Craigie and man in his 20s have died after being hit by a truck while walking on Brookton Highway this morning.

The pair were struck at around 12:30am, when the Mack Rigid truck travelling east entered a left hand bend near Woods Loop in Jelcobine, about 20km west of Brookton.

They died at the scene.

The driver of the truck was not injured and is assisting police with their inquiries.
