Another year of learning kicked off at Narrogin Senior High School on Wednesday with an assembly celebrating the academic achievement of the class of ‘23. Byron Wilmot, Gabrielle Cousins, Hanna Jagan, Jude Corner and Leila Pederick had their names added to the NSHS 90-Plus Honour Board by principal Sandii Stankovic in recognition of their exception ATAR results. Mr Wilmot, Ms Cousins, Ms Jagan and Ms Pederick returned to NSHS to share some tips for success with current students — practice, balance and asking for help when needed were rated highly. Last year’s academic excellence award recipients were also applauded: Gabrielle Bickers, Olivia Dewing, Kayla Hobson, Clancy Shepherd, Kate Cousins, Tabitha Pederick, Guillaume van der Riet, Jade Bray, Claire Conlan, Claire Hedditch and Abby Dewing. Five new teachers from New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa and England joined NSHS this year and more than 105 wide-eyed Year 7 students have made the transition from primary school. This year also marks the launch of an updated NSHS business plan, a framework that will guide learning and teaching into the future.
