Narrogin’s YMCA Leisure Centre is set for exciting changes, following suggestions made by the public at last year’s forum.

Last week’s YMCA Have Your Say Night included a presentation from manager Tia Sandhu, who revealed the centre’s progress with public concerns expressed at a community meeting last year.

These included the need for roof replacement or repair, better pool temperature regulation and more thorough cleaning of the centre.

Ms Sandhu said in response, the centre underwent major roof replacements earlier this year and a new cleaner had been hired.

A building maintenance system would also be installed to maintain pool temperature.

Other changes to be introduced in the next year include free wifi, air-conditioning installation at John Higgins Centre and a proposed fitness and wellbeing program for young people.

Ms Sandhu said she was looking forward to creating more teenage and child-orientated activities at the centre, including the development of the Youth Engagement Strategy within the Shire, following the Youth Survey results.
