The Facey Group’s annual Women in Agriculture forum will be held at the Wickepin Community Centre on July 19 providing women in the district with an opportunity to come together, listen and share. Sponsored by CSBP, the event will give rural women an opportunity to network with their peers and enjoy some camaraderie, something important for those living in regional communities. The theme of this year’s event is Stepping Stones and a feature of the day will be talks from a range of inspirational speakers focusing on how they have overcome the stumbling blocks and obstacles they have encountered on their life journeys. The keynote address will be given by 2023 WA Agrifutures Rural Women’s Award finalist Kate Mitchell. Based in Narrikup in the Great Southern, Ms Mitchell has received recognition for her work to develop rural youth first-aid programs and for her efforts to establish a rural paediatric health hub. A high tea and catered lunch will be provided at the event and CBH will provide attendees with barista coffee throughout the day. Registration for the event that starts at 8.30 am can be made through the Facey Group website.
