The Shire of Pingelly has launched a monthly photo competition with the winner determined by Facebook likes.

From January 2022, the Shire will be using submitted photos as the cover image on its Facebook page.

The competition, called All Things Pingelly, is set to drive social media engagement.

The Shire already has one of the most active Facebook pages in the region, with more followers than ratepayers.

Entries will be accepted from the first to the fifth of every month, with the winner announced on the sixth.

The entries must be posted in the comments section of the current All Things Pingelly competition post.

The photo with the most likes will become the Shire’s cover photo for the rest of the month.

“Sharing of the post and asking for people to like your photo is encouraged,” the Shire said in a statement.

*Photos are permitted to include people. Those people captured in the photograph must give consent to you before posting on the page.

“In the event of a draw, the Shire of Pingelly may collage two photos together or call for a quick public vote between the two images.”
