Pingelly’s Tom Blechynden kicked a goal on debut for South Fremantle's league side during Monday's WA Day Fremantle derby at Shark Park.

It caps off an impressive 12 months for Blechynden, who was named in the WAFL Colts’ Team of the Year in September and hit a ton at the WACA for the Upper Great Southern Cricket Association during Country Week’s A-section final against Albany in January.

Blechynden tallied 14 touches, five marks, three tackles and two inside-50s in his first WAFL hit-out, while Katanning’s Kade Steward had a team high six inside-50s in a 20-disposal display.

Haiden Schloithe was forced from the ground by injury after collecting 12 possessions.

Wagin's Kyle Hamersley had a game-high 26 possessions in the Bulldogs’ reserves narrow 10.11 (71) to 11.7 (73) loss.

Hamersley provided South Fremantle's’s forward line with four inside-50s and laid five tackles.

Boddington’s George Wessels, meanwhile, was among the club's best in the colts 7.8 (52) to 3.15 (33) win. Wessels supplemented his 23 touches with seven tackles and five inside-50s.

Narrogin duo Darryl Anderson (two goals, 13 disposals) and Malachi Bolt (one goal) made an impact while Wagin’s Nathan Spooner had seven touches.
