Aussie pride fuses with family fun

Australia Day celebrations will be held across the Great Southern tomorrow.

Here is a taste of what some of Narrogin and surrounding shires will be doing on the day.

Narrogin

The Narrogin Shire will be holding a barbecue breakfast at the Town Hall from 7.30am, followed by formal Australia Day proceedings.

From 10am, children’s activities will be held at Mackie Park, with a free family concert featuring Chain Reaction and local musicians kicking off at 4pm.

The day will come to a close with a free family movie screening at Mackie Park from 7.30pm.

Wagin

The Shire of Wagin will be holding a barbecue breakfast at Ram Park from 7.30am, with guests asked to bring their own plates, cutlery and barbecue tools.

This will be followed by a flag-raising ceremony at 8am.

Boddington

Boddington Lions Club and the Shire of Boddington will be hosting a breakfast at the Rodeo Ground from 8am, which will be followed by the Australia Day awards.

The event will also feature local band Loot and children’s games and activities.

Williams

The Shire of Williams is holding a breakfast at the Town Hall playground from 8am.

After the breakfast, the Williams citizen of the year will be announced at a special ceremony.

Harrismith

The Shire of Wickepin will be hosting an Australia Day barbecue at Harrismith Golf Club, from 8am.

Kondinin

A Shire of Kondinin free sausage sizzle and movie night will be at Kondinin Aquatic Centre, 6.30pm.
