Arts Narrogin has announced that it will contribute $20,000 to the Perth Symphony Orchestra’s Green Shoots Narrogin Hay Bales Concert in a big boost for the unique undertaking. The contribution has been drawn from the Arts Narrogin Gift Fund and donated through the project’s Go Fund Me Page. Thanks to the big donation and the generosity of many individual donors as of September 14 the project has raised about $22,500 of its $35,000 goal. “We are thrilled to support the Perth Symphony Orchestra’s Green Shoots Narrogin Hay Bales Concert,” Arts Narrogin gift fund committee member Sally Rogers said. “This event embodies the spirit of our community and showcases the incredible talent we have here in Narrogin. “We believe that this concert will not only be a cultural highlight but will also have a positive impact on the lives of our residents.” The project has ballooned in size since inception with about 140 community members having committed to performing at the event. The unprecedented yet welcome response resulted in project costs exceeding expectations and the PSO set up a GoFundMe account on July 26. An arena made of hay bales will be constructed on a local farm and audiences will be treated to performances of all sorts as contemporary bands, choirs and classical musicians take to the stage on November 25. “We are deeply grateful to the Arts Narrogin Gift Fund for their substantial donation,” PSO community engagement manager Marie-Claire Donnelly said. “Their support reinforces the importance of arts and culture in regional communities like Narrogin. “Together, we can create an unforgettable musical experience and bring the joy of music to people’s lives.” Donations to the PSO fundraising campaign can be made via the GoFundMe website and anyone wishing to discuss sponsorship of the event is invited to contact Ms Donnelly on 0431 502 161.
