Preparations under way for 112th season at Princess Royal Sailing Club
The Princess Royal Sailing Club enters its 112th season on Saturday, October 23.
The club is one of the oldest in the city, having been founded in 1909.
After the long winter lay-off skippers and crews are eager to get back on the water for several months of competition, and that opportunity will come on opening day.
The official opening address will be given by Colin Bairstow of Albany Sea Rescue at 1pm in the clubhouse.
Sailing begins at 2.30pm and up to five fleets will contest short courses around harbour marks.
Members and guest spectators will have afternoon tea from 2.30pm.
At 5.30pm, club commodore Harold Keay will be introduced and winners from the first day of racing of the new season will be announced.
