Forensics officers involved in search operation in Gull Rock National Park near Albany

A search is under way this afternoon for a missing person at Ledge Beach, east of Albany.

The area has been blocked from public access.

Police are conducting a land search around the Ledge Beach area, with a control unit set up in the Ledge Beach Road car park.

A WA Police spokesman said the person’s roommate alerted police after they failed to come home from a fishing trip on Thursday.

They were last seen in the area about 4pm on Thursday.

The person’s vehicle, believed to be a black Holden Captiva, has been found and towed away.

Forensics officers and firefighters are at the scene.
