What do travel writers do for fun?

Well, our team didn’t have to travel far for its Australia Day long-weekend “paddle party”.

We’re a close-knit team of friends — and this was us just enjoying our spare time together in Matilda Bay.

Writers Leyanne Baillie, Jessie Stoelwinder and Megan French. Cruising writer Michael Ferrante.

Writer and host of The Pod Well Travelled Penny Thomas, who’s on maternity leave.

Recently retired writer and photographer Mogens Johansen.

Our regular composer and musician Steve Richter.

And, of course, family and friends who support and encourage us all.

Nine kayaks lined up on the beach, and we paddled the bay, chatted and enjoyed just being part of a great like-minded and kind-hearted team.
