VideoHawaii has been wrecked by Hurricane Lala, with the natural disaster just missing the Big Island directly.

Rain has started to fall in Perth, with showers sweeping across the metropolitan area as a wet and windy day gets underway.

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a 75 per cent chance of at least 5mm of rain on Monday, with up to 10mm possible.

The city is expected to reach a top of 20C, with north to north-westerly winds of 25km/h to 35km/h turning westerly around the middle of the day.

The showers should become less likely through the late afternoon and into the evening.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower, most likely in the evening, and a top of 19C after a minimum of 10C.

The wet weather will linger into Wednesday, with a medium chance of showers and temperatures ranging from a low of 10C to a high of 20C.

Thursday starts with a cooler morning of 7C, with a partly cloudy day and only a slight chance of a shower and a top of 21C.

Conditions turn mostly sunny on Friday with a warmer maximum of 23C.

The weekend could bring more rain, with a medium chance of showers on Saturday and a minimum of 10C and a maximum of 23C.

A shower or two is forecast for Sunday with the mercury reaching 20C.
