A vehicle careened out of control and smashed into a house, leaving the car pinned on its side against the property.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Iolanthe Drive in Duncraig about 10.40pm on Thursday after a silver Hyundai Santa Fe collided with the house.

The force of the impact left the vehicle in a precarious position, wedging it on its side between the home and a retaining wall.

The vehicle remained wedged into the side of the property on Friday morning.

Remarkably, the driver — a man in his 40s — was able to free himself from the wreckage unassisted. He was not hurt.
