Disney fans will flock to Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City this weekend for the highly anticipated opening of its pop-up store.
Huge queues are to be expected long before the store opens at 9am on Saturday as families eagerly wait to get their hands on new merchandise not available anywhere else in Australia.
Disney has promised toys from iconic films like The Lion King, Lilo and Stitch and Toy Story as well as Disney princess merchandise and a fresh take on Mickey Mouse-inspired decor, new mugs, tableware and soft furnishings.
Perth fans can get their hands on the Toy Story, Buzz Lightyear sports jersey before anyone else in the country.
Plushies and keychains featuring characters from Lucifer to Bambi and Perry the Platypus, from Disney’s Japan store, will also be for sale.

Disney Parks collectables will land with new weekly Pin Trading releases, plus new apparel, accessories and homewares inspired by iconic attractions.
Disney Store Australia’s Alex Lord welcomed four families to experience the pop-up on Friday, before the general public.
“It’s always great to see the big smiles,” Ms Lord said.
“Everyone gravitates towards something different. We had an adorable little girl who really loved Minnie Mouse and obviously came in and was drawn by that.
“And then we had a family who really loved Pixar, and was very excited to discover that Lotso (from Toy Story) actually smells like strawberries.”
If the toys aren’t exciting enough, Disney is also celebrating several anniversaries, including Pixar Studios’ 40th anniversary, Toy Story’s 30th anniversary and the 60th anniversary of the ride It’s A Small World.
“There is a big Pixar focus in store, including a very exciting photo op with Sully (from Monsters Inc),” Ms Lord said.
“We have a range of Star Wars products as well. But what we’re very excited for with our pop-up in Perth is that we will be here to celebrate May the 4th, which is Star Wars Day.
“So coming into May 4th, we will have a whole range of exclusive products that are going to land in Perth and be here for fans to shop and celebrate on the day.”
Ms Lord said it was very hard to pin down the most popular toy as there was something for everyone.
“From adult fans that are here to add to their pin collection to kids that just can’t go home without that extra special plush, there really is something for everyone in store,” she said.
The Disney expert also said it was a great year to be a Disney fan with so many exciting films coming out.
Disney’s 2026 movie slate features major releases, including Toy Story 5 (June 19), The Mandalorian and Grogu (May 22), and Pixar’s Hoppers (March 6).
Other anticipated projects include a live-action Moana (July 10) and Hexed (Nov 25), with Ice Age 6 also expected late in the year.
The Disney Store Pop-Up is open until May 31 and is located opposite Adairs. There will be free gifts for the first 50 early customers in the queue on Saturday.
It will be closed on Anzac Day.
