Broadwater death: Man, 26, and woman, 28, charged with murder after the discovery of a woman’s body

A 28-year-old woman and 26-year-old man have been charged with murder after a 38-year-old woman was found in a home in WA’s South West where a two-year-old child was also present. Homicide squad detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a 38-year-old Mandurah woman after she was found at a home in Broadwater - near Busselton - on Friday night. Police went to the home on Bell Drive just after 8pm on Friday to conduct a welfare check when they found the dead woman. South West District Detective Inspector Martin Voyez said on Sunday a 26-year-old man had since been charged with murder over the incident. On Monday, police confirmed a 28-year-old woman had also been charged. Both are due to appear in Bunbury Magistrates Court on Monday. Det. Inspector Voyez said the Busselton community had nothing to fear, as it was an isolated incident. “There is no risk to the wider community,” he said. The 26-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were arrested separately on Saturday night. The man is due to face Bunbury Magistrates Court on Monday. The 38-year-old woman knew the man and woman, although the nature of their relationship is unclear. Police refused to comment on how the woman died, although its believed a weapon was involved. A two-year-old child related to the one of the women was also at the property. It is understood police are investigating the possibility the alleged murder occurred up to 24 hours before officers attended the home on Friday night, although this has not been confirmed. Detectives are expected to continue searching the home for clues over the coming days.
