Acacia Prison: Prisoner death at medium security prison facility in Wooroloo not being treated as suspicious
A prisoner has died after a medical emergency at Acacia Prison in Wooroloo.
Staff at Acacia Prison discovered the 52-year-old prisoner was unwell during a welfare check on Thursday night. He was taken to the onsite medical centre, but his condition deteriorated.
Staff provided first aid until St John WA paramedics arrived but the man died.
Preliminary reports indicate that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
WA Police will prepare a report for the State Coroner, as is required for all deaths in custody.
