A motorcyclist has died after crashing in Maddington this morning.

The 52-year-old man was headed north on Kelvin Road when his black Harley Davidson struck the kerb just before 8am.

The force of the collision tossed him from the bike and he died at the scene.

Kelvin Road was closed in both directions at Sampson Street in the morning, but reopened at midday.

Major crash investigation officers were examining the scene and have appealed to any witnesses to come forward.

Investigators were also seeking any dash-cam or mobile phone footage of the incident.
