The Kimberley Echo

Camera IconIf there’s one positive that can be taken out of COVID-19 restrictions, it’s the creativity it has sparked from businesses, families and hobbyists when faced with the unprecedented lifestyle change.Kununurra-based photographer Landi Bradshaw has been one amongst just a handful of creatives across Australia and the world who has captured memories with the #drivewayproject.Ms Bradshaw completed day 12 of her photography series last Friday, and has expected to snap portraits of 150 households across Kununurra and Wyndham for free by its end, showing a moment in their lives during the coronavirus crisis. The project has proven so popular in the region, the part-time photographer has been booked out a second round of photo shoots, saying interest in the project has been overwhelming.Locals involved in the driveway project have proudly shared their photos to social media accounts, with Ms Bradshaw making a selection of images available to them. But the initiative has the possibility to not only bring fun to East Kimberley homes, but stimulate the economy as well, with participants able to print their photos then have them framed by local businesses.Pictured: Benna Kabilu, 8, Sawa Kabilu, Leanne Wykes, Marco Kabilu, 3, and Tomiets Kabilu, 11.
