Wary of Bull run

Her side might be riding high on top of the A-Women ladder, but Tornadoes Black coach Julieann Bissaker is leaving nothing to chance against the Bulls tomorrow night.

Despite their 5-5 record, the Bulls possess one of the most formidable rosters across the entire Bunbury Basketball Association, and Bissaker believes this will be a solid challenge for her younger players.

“I totally respect that team,” she said. “They have got experience which no other team in the league has. Catherine Waycott is an absolute jet — I totally respect the energy and what she brings to the game.

“She is always one to watch and you know she is always going to go hard. Hopefully Brittany Gliddon will also play.

“So when you have Catherine, Brittany, Zane (Bricite) and Anita (Reca) with experience, there is a lot there.

“Because we have got the young kids in our team, it is very hard for them, because they are still trying to understand where they need to be defensively.

“If Bulls are on a roll, they can knock any team off I believe.”

One thing Tornadoes Black will have no shortage of tomorrow night is camaraderie and hustle, two elements which are very important to Bissaker.

“It is great to have skilled players, but I would take a hustler over that any day,” she said.

“For me, defence is important and when the kids are out there giving it everything and hustling defensively, you know you are always going to have a good crack.”
