Manjimup student Kaleb Broad has been named the region’s South Regional TAFE student of the year.

Mr Broad was awarded the Manjimup campus student of the year title after studying workplace skills, being praised by lecturers for his consistent work ethic, positive aptitude and leadership in the classroom.

He was also commended for his willingness to respond constructively to feedback, making improvements to his work to meet course standards and expectations.

South Regional TAFE highlighted his embodiment of the college’s values, particularly integrity, noting the high standard he maintained across all assessment tasks and activities. South Regional TAFE managing director Blair Marsh said the annual awards provided an opportunity to reflect on the individual achievements of students across the region.

“The annual student awards are a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon the individual successes of our students and uncover stories of personal achievement — each one is unique, meaningful and inspirational,” Mr Marsh said. “I congratulate all students for their hard work and dedication to excellence. Each winner is a fantastic ambassador not only for their training area but as a future leader in their regional community.

Mr Marsh also acknowledged the diversity of this year’s top award recipients, noting the success of South Regional TAFE students of the year Sea Evans and Ehsherwahdah Dah.

“Our students of the year, Sea Evans and Ehsherwahdah Dah, reflect our multi-cultural populations and stand out as leaders who have achieved outstanding success after moving to Australia, learning a new language and dedicating themselves to their studies,” he said.

“We are proud to recognise them as ambassadors for the coming year.“
