The Geraldton Buccaneers have maintained their lead at the top of the NBL1-West ladder with a 94-69 win over the Perth Redbacks on Saturday night.

Playing in front of their home fans at Activewest Stadium, the Buccs were without star Mathiang Muo but still proved too good for the Redbacks.

A tight first quarter saw the Buccs lead by two points at the first break, extending to six by half-time as the Redbacks kept pace with their opponents.

The visitors’ resistance soon faded in the second half as the Buccs lead grew out to 18 points in the third quarter, and 25 in the fourth, finishing 94-69 victors.
