Police are investigating a pair of Perth YouTube pranksters who gloated about how they managed to sneak into the AFL Grand Final, apparently bypassing police and security staff by dressing in high-viz.

During the five-minute clip, the duo — who go by “misfitminds” on their YouTube channel — show their “step-by-step” process of getting into Perth’s biggest sporting event in years without having to buy a ticket.

“With tickets being four hundred and fifty bucks, we’re sneaking in and you’re coming with us,” one of the men boasts.

The pair filmed themselves at Big W buying high-viz clothes before wheeling trolleys towards the stadium.

In an incident which is under investigation by WA Police, the duo are seen scouting out the gates and walking past police officers and security guards, who don’t appear to approach the pranksters.

Shortly before bouncedown, they film themselves confidently walking through the gate and asking staff “hey mate, is it all right if we use the lift?”.

Unbelievably, their simple plan appeared to work, after successfully getting in the lift and through to the event, they are filmed high-fiving and ditching the trolley.

They take off their disguises in the bathroom and are shown celebrating with beer along with other fans.

The footage, named “Sneaking into Australia’s Biggest Event” was posted on Saturday and has since been viewed more than 6,000 times.

An Optus Stadium spokesperson said they were aware of the footage and the “matter is is under investigation jointly with WA Police.”

The security breach comes after a pitch invader ran onto the turf and stripped off his clothes at Optus Stadium before being tackled and carried off by security during the AFL grand final.

Abra Bol, a cousin of Australian Olympic runner Peter, took his opportunity at the three-quarter time as the teams huddled for the final break of the season.

The 22-year-old is now facing a hefty financial penalty and a potential three-year ban from the stadium.
