A crash in Ellenbrook on Gnangara Road eastbound is causing peak hour headaches for motorists driving home for the weekend.

The crash was reported at 3.49pm on Friday afternoon and blocked the right lane of Gnangara Road after Drumpellier Drive.

The crash has since been cleared but traffic remains slow on approach.

Earlier, a breakdown on Kwinana Freeway southbound in Salter Point caused major peak hour congestion.

The breakdown on the Mount Henry Bridge was reported at 3.26pm by Main Roads and blocked the right lane and emergency lane of the Freeway.
