Pitch ‘n’ plate back for round two this month

Narrogin’s successful live crowd funding Pitch ‘n’ Plate event is back for round two and the community is ready to hear from the next round of pitchers.

The first event was hosted by Arts Narrogin at the end of January with the promise of a follow up get-together later this year.

The second Pitch ‘n’ Plate has been scheduled for July 15 at the Narrogin Town Hall reception centre.

Those attending will pay $20 for their ticket which includes soup and artisan bread.

Guests will hear three or four community members pitch their ideas for a project to enhance life in Narrogin.

Each $20 ticket will be converted to tokens which can be used to support one or several of the ideas.

At the conclusion of the pitches, all participants will choose which project they wish to contribute to.

As part of the evening’s entertainment, the successful pitchers from the January event will return to talk about the progress of their projects and to answer questions from the public.

Jacqui Early will return with her pitch about improving the safety and aesthetic of Thornton Theatre.

Emma Peddey will provide updates on her idea to install “core boards” across Narrogin’s playgrounds to break the communication barrier between those with and without disabilities.

Bernadette Garnier and Malcolm Jetta will present the development of a Narrogin youth and community hub for young Aboriginal men.

Oil painter Graham Smith will update the community on progress with his project Unsung Heroes, which is about honouring the people who have made contributions to the town by painting their portraits and displaying them in a gallery.
