Narrogin detectives are investigating the theft of a Western Power generator from Darkan Primary School in February, during a slew of power outages in the area.

The generator was stolen from the school carpark on Saturday, February 14, two weeks after the start of term one.

The white-coloured generator had been fixed to a trailer and clearly marked with Western Power logos.

The Shire of West Arthur, where Darkan PS is located, has experienced eight power outages in 2026, including three unplanned blackouts.

Three of these power failures occurred after the school’s generator was stolen, including the day of the theft on February 14, then February 15 and 19.
