Manjimup Primary School celebrated NAIDOC Week with various activities for all year levels.

Activities across the week included a Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions guest speaker talking about bush tucker and a show-and-tell with Indigenous tools and quiz games.

Aboriginal and Islander education officer Tracy Hansen said students in the junior school also heard Aboriginal stories.

“Across the school, we’ve also done wildflower drawings, history works, and in science they’ve done their take on the Rainbow Serpent story and giant animal cut-outs decorated to look like puzzle pieces,” she said.

“We’ve done Noongar stories in class and the big highlight was welcoming Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse down for a concert on Wednesday.

“We didn’t want anyone to miss out on our festivities.”
