WA could have its first division one Oz Lotto winner since May when a massive prize goes on the line tonight.

A Parmelia man scored almost $2.5m in May after purchasing a ticket while trying to avoid a drenching during the mega storm downpour.

“As tonight’s 6pm deadline to buy a ticket in Oz Lotto’s $50 million jackpot approaches, we’re encouraging players to get their tickets early,” Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said.

“A ticket rush is expected between 4pm and 5pm, when more than 350 tickets will be sold each minute.”

Another mega prize is up for the taking on Thursday, with a Powerball prize of $80m going on the line.

Ms Compagnone said the rare jackpot run totalling $130 million has happened only three times in the past two years.
