GFL products kicking goals at WAFL level for Subiaco
The Goldfields Football League continues to be a prosperous recruitment zone for Subiaco — a point underpinned last Saturday when four local products lined up in the WAFL club’s senior team against Swan Districts.
Mines Rovers alumnus Rory Murison made his league debut for the Lions and racked-up 11 possessions in a team that included another former Diorite Malakai Champion and the Railways duo of Ryan Borchet and Judd Kelman.
Murison played in Mines Rovers’ 2021 colts grand final team and represented the GFL before moving to Perth the following season and winning the Taylor Medal as Subiaco’s leading colts player.
Two other former Diorites who were drafted to the AFL after joining Subiaco, Tyrell Dewar and Rob Hansen Jr, last weekend played for West Coast and North Melbourne, respectively.
Subiaco’s list includes Jack Mayo, who missed last weekend’s round because of injury.
He is the the son of former Boulder premiership player and coach Brett Mayo.
