Australia Day in Esperance was the scene of celebration yesterday, with an early-morning swim, morning family fun day, and mid-afternoon market day.

Esperance Triathlon Club members started their morning off with the annual swim-through event on James Street Beach, with Ben Murgatroyd taking first place for the men and Maddie McGrinder taking the top spot for the women.

Following the swim, the Rotary Club of Esperance hosted a family fun day from 9am with live local entertainment, market stalls and waterslides at Adventureland Park.
