Jake Blight produced an impressive innings to win the production sedan division at Attwell Park Speedway in Albany on Saturday night.

The productions were running as part of the support program for the rescheduled 2019-20 WA Super Sedan Title, which kicked off the new Albany season.

Jake and Jenna Blight made the trip down from Katanning to compete at the event in front of a strong crowd.

Jake Blight had plenty of pace in the heat races and carried that through to the final, where he was far too strong for his rivals.

She finished the meeting with consistent results in the #16 car.

Perth’s Gary Higgs won his maiden WA Super Sedan Title on the night, eclipsing fellow Perth competitor Damon Trouchet by 0.442 seconds in a thrilling 40-lap final.

Trouchet, who is a Mt Barker Speedway Club member, led for large parts of the journey but Higgs was able to get past on the final lap to end years of heartache in the ev-ent.

Mt Barker trio Rob Knox, Chris Pavlovich and Adam Campbell rounded out the top five.

Katanning Speedway Club are preparing for their first meeting of the season, with the 2020 Southern Nationals on Saturday, November 21.

The meeting will feature V8 dirt modifieds, wingless sprints, west coast speedcars, super sixes, production sedans and junior sedans.
