Zacc Cross scored for Demons last week as they beat B52s 8-7 in a thrilling victory.

Corey Smith had a goal last time out for B52s, while Craig Harrington was solid in goal.

In the women’s A-grade, defending champs B52s play Rats, while second-placed Demons take on top-of-the-ladder Serpents.

B52’s and Demons drew 4-4 last week in a repeat of last season’s grand final.

Kobi Toomath and Abbie McDonald got two goals each for Demons, while Tenae Leitch, Indi Smith, Aimee Hagan and Emma Smith got on the score sheet for B52’s.

Rats play B52s in the junior boys, while Demons play the composite side.

In the junior girls, Demons play Serpents while Rats play B52s.

Ben McGowan played well for B52s in the junior boys division last round as they beat Demons, 12-3.

Rats and composite drew, 6-6. B52’s also won in the junior girls’ last round, 13-3.

The association’s Julia Gourley said Haigh would be presenting a rules refresher on Wednesday, October 27, and members were encouraged to attend and can dial in through Zoom.

Gourley said a new format and a refereeing panel headed by Kiwi former international player Russell McKinnon were among the reasons to be excited.

“The (new) structure has gone much better than anticipated,” Gourley said.

“It’s just great, we’re back for another season. That (changes to refereeing) just brings us up another level if any of us go and play in the Perth level or go away for country week.

“It brings the bar up higher. It’s just bringing that connection closer, the country league to where the Perth league sits, so it’s really exciting.” Fixtures have been changed this season so that all A-grade games are on Sundays and all junior and C-grade games on Saturdays. B-grade games will run on Fridays and Saturdays.
